I miss you all so much after a long time no contact! Hereunder I would like to introduce myself as a PHD student now in the field of “Folklore and Culture Heritage Study” in Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou.

The local culture and folklore study is my longtime interest. My MA study majored in Classical Chinese Language and published a book Through the Ages- People and Traditions in Chinese Tales in 1994, a textbook, to introduce Chinese culture via 40 well-known traditional stories for international students whom study Chinese, attached with my analysis and the English translation. I would like to continue my personal interest with my 10 years’ experience in tourism management, which provided me a lot understanding of animal welfare, environment protection, sustainable development and tourism marketing, etc.
 
My PHD study will “officially” start next month and normally, it will take 3 years for a fulltime PHD student to complete the thesis. As I have to do some part-time job at the same time, I might need 5 years or more to finish it. I did not focus on the exact topic of the thesis, although some topics seem interesting (included the study of the conflict between the Cantonese cuisine tradition and the trend of animal welfare thought).

I am no longer a fulltime staff in Chimelong (Panyu Xiangjiang Safari Park) now as it is difficult for me to do so during my PHD study. I did not involve the international affairs for Chimelong as well, although I am still engaged in some other tour project as a consultant. However, please let me know if you need me to follow up any of your demand.
